The beautiful state of North Carolina was officially my home for two years. Today it remains a home away from home that is incredibly special to my heart. I have taken the liberty to place together a few pictures highlighting why I love this state.
Flora and Fauna
The neighborhood’s wild fox exploring Fran and Jim’s Yard
Wild Venus Flytrap’s only grow in a 60 mile radius of Wilmington, NC, USA.
Spring Flowers at JC Raulston Arboretum, Raleigh
Butterfly at JC Raulston Arboretum, Raleigh
Spring at JC Raulston Arboretum, Raleigh
Iconic Johnnie Mercer’s Pier at Wrightsville Beach, NC, USA. I’ve never actually been on the pier, but this fantastic beach is great fun each summer. Swim or surf (in designated zones) or just take a stroll on the beach.
NC State Fair
North Carolina State Fair hosts a lot of culture, community works, competitions, and all rides are checked by inspectors for additional safety.
Filming Towns Wilmington or South Port
You never know who you might meet, Wilmington, NC which is a small filming town. Occasionally, you might run into famous people. I was quite fortunate to meet John and his wife Penny at an art show one night.
Duke Gardens in Durham, NC are a must visit each spring.
Christmas in Wilmington
Christmas in Wilmington is delightful. Click here for a map detailing where the festive houses are and plan your route driving around from house to house. You can pick and choose which area of the city you’d like to cover. For extra fun, the big kids at heart can turn this into a bit of a pub crawl (providing someone is willing to be designated driver) stopping at various bars along the way for appetizers and drinks.
